Mary Ann Caffery's stained glass, mosaics and sculptures center on the idea of transmitted, reflected and absorbed light and are characterized by the use of spectral intensity color. Recurring themes of her work are water, gardens and human virtues.
Caffery has studied with prominent designers and artists in the United States, France, Germany and Canada. Her work has been included in the Corning Museum's annual New Glass Review three times and is owned by museums in Japan, Germany and the US. Her mosaic work can be seen in the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and the Lafayette Regional Airport. She has also completed numerous stained glass works for public and private clients, including art for the 2nd District Police Headquarters in New Orleans.
Caffery is currently an Adjunct Faculty member in the Interior Design Department at Louisiana State University where she teaches Color Theory and Graphics. She is also artistic director of Caffery Gallery in Baton Rouge.
