On Sat. Jan. 23, Baton Rouge Gallery, was packed with unicorns, mermen, big pigs, a band of superheroes, tree nymphs and almost any other dreamlike creature one can imagine (and then some). These fantastical parties were all present for one reason: the Second Annual Surreal Salon Soiree. Baton Rouge Gallery’s annual fundraiser, Kinetics 2009, was held November 6th at the Gallery inside BREC’s historic City Park. Guests were entertained by an evening filled with art, silent and live art auctions, food, and music by the Michael Foster Project. Items up for bid in the Silent Auction included art and art-related goods and services from throughout the community. The highlight of the evening was the Live Auction featuring more than three dozen works by Baton Rouge Gallery Artists Members! |
