"his painting is from a series of weather related paintings. It's all about how weather affects us as individuals and our communities. Admittedly, I'm more into the humorous look but it also gives us a chance for discussion about climate change. Mankind has left records of natural disasters for thousands of years and scientists are using technology to better predict what will happen. But, as we all know, the weather can be freakish and change in "a blink of the eye". The people that populate my paintings tell stories about how they and their towns were overcome with too much water or if their spirits are drying up from the lack of water. Some are about idyllic summer days and another about the hardship of freezing cold. But whatever the particular weather subject, different viewers identify with different paintings due to their experiences with an extreme weather event." - Cindy Holmes
