On Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, join us as we host a listening room experience by Souricière. As with all Sundays@4 presentations, this will be free and open to the public.
about the Band:
Souricière is a cafe society, bohemian, jazz flecked combo composed of Alex V. Cook (vocals, accordion, trumpet), Leon LeJeune (guitar), and Lewis Roussel (bass). They are often joined by Carrie Deyo on vocals and a vintage Univox SR-55 drum machine on percussion.
Named for the French word for "mousetrap," - there is a story - Souricière arose out of the hiatus of the core members' rock band The Rakers, looking for something different to try. Leon's been playing bossa nova songs in his living room for ages, Lewis can play anything and Alex will give anything a whirl. It's an experiment that keeps surprising us by working, mixing standards, original songs, Beatnik narrative and the things that happen when you let the moon shine on you just right.
Souricière will play you some tunes that will make you laugh and snap your fingers, tell weird stories, try to explain their deal and help you pull your tail loose from the trap that is the 21st century.
Sundays@4 is presented in partnership with the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area whose mission is to enhance the identity of our unique American landscape by preserving and promoting our heritage and by fostering progress for local champions that create authentic, powerful connections between people, culture, and the environment.
