“FREE AS THEY WANT TO BE”

 

Baton Rouge Gallery, Southern University, and The West Baton Rouge Museum are proud to partner on a limited-run multi-site exhibition featuring works from some of the biggest names in American art. Free as they want to be: Artists Committed to Memory – curated by Deborah Willis, Ph.D. and Cheryl Finley, Ph.D. – is a presentation of contemporary art inspired by historical memory that considers the historic and contemporary role photography and film have played in remembering legacies of slavery. Join us for an opportunity to see all three exhibition stops in one afternoon.

Please note that whichever location you select, you will both START and END there. Please arrive at your selected location by 12:00 pm. Each shuttle is expected to return to it’s location by 3:30 pm.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE

  • Each passenger is required to register seperately.

  • Each passenger will be required to sign a waiver release of liability to ride the shuttle.

  • Please be advised that lunch will not be provided, other than bottle water, so please plan to eat lunch before your shuttle.
