KIDS NIGHT! with a live score by BR MUSIC STUDIOS
We’ve got an incredibly special night planned for you! This year's Movies & Music on the Lawn series - presented by Whole Foods Market - brings you its first-ever “Kids Night” (sponsored by Curbside)! Join us as three incredible silent short films are paired with three bands of local kids who will perform original scores for the films!
The films to be featured on Kids Night include the 1956 classic “The Red Balloon;” one of the first-ever animated films, "Gertie the Dinosaur" (1914); and a beautifully colorful contemporary film from Spain titled “Alike” (2015). All told, the films will offer you and your family a film-and-sound experience unlike any other in the area with amazing films spanning 101 years!
Movies & Music on the Lawn typically pairs local bands with silent films and for Kids Night, we thought we’d turn things over to bands made up of local kids! We’re fortunate to have the kids of Baton Rouge Music Studios joining us for this special event.
Baton Rouge Music Studios is a multi-faceted academy of music education, performance coaching, and training in music technology, catering to aspiring musicians and music technology enthusiasts of all ages. The faculty and staff are committed to creating, implementing, and continually developing superior educational and performance based programs to Baton Rouge area youth and adults, and creating a meaningful community throughout the process. From private lessons, to pop and rock bands, to its brand new “amplifi” program (which caters to individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities as well as survivors of traumatic experience), their programs offer something for everyone looking to enrich their lives through music.
