April Hammock's work consists of abstract paintings focusing on form and spaces intertwining, breaking apart, and building. The work is influenced by both metaphysics and a perceived ambiguity between exterior and interior spaces.

Capricious Games

A surface, an edge

Two parts oscillate

Colors communicate; thoughts, actions

Images connect the familiar with barely tangible

Tattered bridges

Grounds shift, water rises

A camouflaged facade, nestled deep in its catatonic environment, that is compelled to lie:

“Time is Still.”

The rich, bountiful beast, who defiantly grins at the winds;

only they know what is ahead.

A consciousness that each entity strives to possess.
