“I used to create my work based on my personal interests and experiences in current situations. One of the biggest changes in my life was becoming a mom. Because of this, I had so many new experiences not just physically but also mentally and spiritually. My son, Hayden, became my priority and my interest.

Since he was 2 years old, Hayden and I have always gone to coffee shops to draw, read books and talk. We enjoy spending time together a lot and have had so many good memories. Hayden is artistically talented and creative with his hands. I have loved his drawings and have become the number one fan of his arts. He drew these drawings presented at the gallery when he was 3 years old in 2019. I realized kids’ drawing styles keep changing and will not be the same as when they were toddlers. As a mom, I wanted to present his drawings to others and thought about collaborating his drawing with my work.

In the past I usually have not used colors in my art and have always created ceramic installation works instead of sculptures. However, for this exhibition, I used many colors based on Hayden’s drawing and made individual wall pieces. It was kind of challenge for me but I really enjoyed working on it. This exhibition represents His drawings having become my ceramics pieces to show how much I love him.” - Lee

This exhibition is presented alongside the latest works from Justin Tyler Bryant, & Rosemary Goodell. All works from these artists are on view, free of charge, during normal gallery hours (12 - 6 p.m., Tue - Sun) from October 5 - 28th.
