Lily Brooks

“Through long term research-based projects I seek to visualize traces of power and vulnerability in the landscape of the Gulf South. Working across the medium of photography, I utilize analog, digital, and video-based processes in my practice. I often examine sites where climate instability intersects with practices of extraction, historical violence, and contemporary ecological significance. This is true of both The Spillway (2016-2021) as well as Letter from a Bellwether, my current ongoing project.” - Brooks
